About Loomio

Open-source decision-making software, built by a worker-owned cooperative since 2011.

Loomio is trusted by cooperatives, boards, global nonprofits, open-source communities, and member-led movements to make important decisions together.

Our mission

Anyone, anywhere should be able to participate in decisions that affect them.

Loomio gives groups a dedicated place to share context, listen to each other, make decisions, and keep a clear record.

We build for practical participation across time, distance, different responsibilities, and different ways of communicating.

Independent

We remain accountable to the people who build and use Loomio, so groups have a neutral place to do consequential work.

Open source

Our code can be inspected, improved, self-hosted, and adapted. Groups stay in control of their data and decision record.

Worker owned

The people doing the work share responsibility for the organisation, putting collaborative governance into daily practice.

Inclusive by design

Participation needs time, context, accessibility, and more than one way to contribute—not only a seat in the meeting.

The cooperative

Loomio is built and owned by its workers.

Loomio is built by a dedicated, experienced team based in Aotearoa New Zealand. As a worker-owned cooperative, the people building the product have a say and a stake in its direction.

We use Loomio in our own work. We practise clear proposals, shared responsibility, visible reasoning, and decisions that can be revisited when circumstances change.
